Fall is one of my favorite times of the year, but I like it even better at Quest. All the students are back, with the new students discovering their university selves and shaping Quest culture, while the returning students come back from adventures around the world, happy to share their knowledge and experience, and to be back in this incredible place we call home.
The campus is also beautiful in the fall. The roads are lined with deciduous trees that turn the most gorgeous shade of red in the fall. September is typically a gorgeous month in Squamish, with crisp mornings and wonderfully sunny afternoons, and it’s a great time to play outside, head up the mountains for a hike, or grab a few more days of lake time. As I write this, students are outside on the grass listening to live music, eating their lunches, and hula hooping.
As I’m starting my new adventure as an Admission Counsellor for Quest, I’ve realized that I’m falling in love with Quest all over again. Being a staff member here is different from being a student, but you feel so much pride in the students, the school, and the amazing community that is fostered here. It’s quirky, different, and in constant flux, and it’s ours. I’m currently preparing to head out on the road to visit schools, meet students, and share Quest, and I’ll be bringing this renewed energy and excitement about Quest with me.
P.S. I’ll be tweeting about my experiences on the road once I leave at the end of September to visit schools in B.C. You can follow me @.
