Name: Hannah Petrillo
Year at Quest: Third year
Hometown: Portland, Oregon
Favourite Moment at Quest: Travelling to the Himalayas with a national geographic photographer for a visual anthropology course! Befriending Tibetan Buddhist monks and listening to their chants, interacting with nomads, and swimming in a pristine glacier lake at 17,000 ft (5,200m) are moments I will always remember.
Academic Interests: I am interested in health, fitness, psychology, sociology, conflict management, and reform.
Future Life Aspirations: Make a difference, be happy, and travel 🙂
Most Amazing Thing You Learned at Quest: How to excel! (Both in life and more importantly with Microsoft)
Best Advice You’ve Given/Been Given Life is a journey not a destination. Don’t wish away your days waiting for better times ahead. If you get a chance, take it. If you make a mistake, learn from it. Right now is life, live it!
Coolest Thing Before Quest: My gap year! I worked for an NGO in the Bwindi Impenetrable forest of Uganda (I came face to face with mountain gorillas) and volunteered as an emergency medical technician at a hospital in Kenya (I helped deliver a baby which was unforgettable!).
Passionate About: I love to travel, be outdoors, dance, teach, and take photographs!
A Wish: To circumnavigate the world on a sailboat!
