Did you ever wonder what Quest students do for the long, May through August summer break? A few of our students were interviewed about their plans for this summer!Torin (left) is a graduating forth year student and Evan (right) is a second year student. After graduating, Torin will be travelling all around Europe ending his summer with a language program abroad. Evan will most likely be working as a park ranger in lower mainland BC and also ending the summer with a language block abroad in Spain.
Janali is a third year student. She is staying on campus for the summer doing Summer Fellows. Summer Fellows is a program that provides summer job opportunities for Quest students to complete a research project over the summer, in collaboration with Quest tutors. She will be conducting research for her Keystone project, looking into psychological state and athletic performance in the Quest and Squamish populations. In August, she will go home to New Mexico and complete her experiential learning at a physical therapy clinic.
Ella is a first year student. This summer she will be working at a restaurant in Victoria and farming in the Comox Valley!
Anna (right) and Kat (left) are first year students. Anna will be working as a barista in a coffee shop in Seattle. She will also be volunteering with Global Visionaries which is a program that brings students to Guatemala to spread awareness of oppression and injustice. Kat will be working at the Vancouver International airport for the shipping company Mega International.
Bijah is also a first year student. She will spend the first part of the summer working in Vancouver at an Irish Pub. After that, Bijah will travel around Iceland, Amsterdam and Norway with her family. For the rest of the summer she will work as a barista at a coffee shop on Cortez Island!
