Block 4. Our final block before our (often much needed) winter break. While students at other Universities are cramming for finals, Quest students continue their steady push through the last block of the semester.
December block can start to feel a bit sluggish at Quest. While everyone is starting to look forward to going home, the weather here is starting to get a bit more rainy and the long hours we keep up during the block plan definitely start to show.
But this isn’t new. Since the first year at Quest, there has been a bit of a slump at the end of the semester. The first year Quest was open, a tradition to remedy this slump and bring the community back together was started: Questival.
Each year, Questival has been a bit different. Part of this is due to the growing student body—an event for 70 people is going to look a lot different from one for 700 people. But it also changes as Quest changes, as student demand changes. However, there are some staples that stay the same: speeches by the President, a photo booth for students, and (our Dean of Students) Melanie reading out the funniest quotes she’s heard over the past year.
Questival is always a much needed break, a connection back to Quest, and a reminder of why we love this place so much. This year, the ninth annual Questival was held on the last Friday of December block. This Questival consisted of dinner with your floor and then a reception with live music, dessert, and the Questival staples. It was a wonderful night and a much needed break for every Quest student.
