The Crisp Cold Days are Back

The weather in Squamish always amazes me! This past weekend we were stuck in a rain cloud – I woke up to rain, and went to bed to rain. Yet this morning, I woke up to bright blue skies, snow covered mountains and the sting of a clear winter morning. The days were starting to feel really short, due to the limited range of sunlight (grey most of the day) we were getting. Yet days like today are always so great. The sun makes it inviting to play outside and the day seems longer with such bright skies. Although it is very cold, many students bundle up and enjoy time in the sunshine.

Weather Forecast from weather.com

Looking at the weather forecast is always a gamble. Today, it looks about right – sunny, no clouds, little wind and no precipitation. They are spot on. Yet looking into the week it seems as if we may get SNOW? Really? Waking up and looking out at our Tantalus mountain range, it’s clear to see the snow line moving, creeping down to us. Any day now the snow may fall here. The weather in Squamish is wacky, sunny one hour, raining the next and snowing the next. We never know what kind of weather we will get up here.
