Stretching across Canada from the Atlantic to Pacific and Arctic oceans, the Trans Canada Trail is the World’s longest network of trails. With 17,000km of usable trails, and another 6,000km to be completed by 2017, the trail provides endless opportunities for adventure from coast to coast to coast. The newest section of the Trans Canada Trail, the Sea to Sky Marine Trail, just recently opened in Squamish. The trail is the first and only saltwater trail in the network, and it provides 6 “rustic” campsites throughout Howe Sound. All of the sites are only accessible via kayak or canoe, and the campsites are all unique, according to the District of Squamish. The addition of these sites is a huge bonus to the paddling community in Squamish, not to mention the general interest in creating more destinations for tourists to visit. Squamish continues to support and develop its brand – Hardwired for Adventure.
