Every four years I look forward to the winter Olympics. Every time the olympics came around my family would always have the TV on, supporting the Canadian Olympians. Vancouver 2010 Olympics were especially exciting because I am from Vancouver and got to attend some of the events including ice dancing, mogul skiing, speed skating, and the closing ceremonies. Winter Olympics are one of the few times when Canadians outwardly express their true Canadian pride.
This past month it has been a lot of fun to watch the Olympics with Quest students. The cafeteria has been streaming the olympics on a projector so that students can watch some of the events. On Thursday, many students came to the cafeteria to support fellow Questies Roz Groenewoud and Keltie Hansen in the Women’s ski halfpipe event. Roz placed 7th and Keltie placed 13th in the event. These students are apart of Quest Elite Athlete Program.

On Sunday, my room is hosting a viewing party for the Men’s Hockey Gold Medal Game at 4am. We are going to do an early morning run to Tim Horton’s, make some pancakes, and cheer loud and proud for the Men’s Hockey Team.
