We have been so fortunate with the weather forecast over the past few days! SUN SUN SUN! Not a trace of clouds in the sky. Many students have been taking advantage of the weather in many different ways! Eating lunch on the Cafeteria deck overlooking the mountains is a great way to take a break and soak up some vitamin D before heading off to do work for class. Students head up for a day of skiing, hiking, mountain biking, and many other recreational sports. Yet with the busy schedule and the block coming to an end it can be hard to find time to enjoy the beautiful environment we live in. One way I have taken advantage of the incredible weather we have been having is doing my homework out on the cafeteria deck.
I remember people telling me to get ready for the Squamish winters. I myself am from the Pacific Northwest and am used to the rain and cloudiness for days and weeks on end. I was not too worried about the weather when coming up here, seeing that there really isn’t too much of a difference. Even though I am used to the grey days, I have been stoked to wake up to blue skies! The Cafeteria deck has been full everyday around lunch. Everyone enjoys their food outside with the incredible view!
Sometimes it is hard to find the time to get outside on the block schedule. Managing my time is a skill I have been trying to improve upon so I have a bit more free time to get out in the beautiful environment. When the sun is shining it makes it even more appealing to be productive and get the days work done, or just do the work outside!
People are happier! The sun has brought with it, an exciting energy to campus!
